Crawling around on their knees, looking into cameras, making a generally inept mess of things—it was a heist worthy of Team Rocket. The foam mod involves placing - you guessed it - foam in the hollow area on the bottom of most keyboards. I was really blown away by it - at once I wanted to bring it back into the office and use it again, but although I loved the new sound profile - I’m still not sure it’s quieter than my silent red switches in the Vortex Cypher.

The function keys being able to be remapped to Space is very helpful, as is the switch of Caps Lock and Ctrl. Reliable wireless is especially rare among mechanical keyboards, for some reason, and models that have it tend to be either unnervingly cheap or annoyingly expensive.

PBT has better wear resistance compared to other materials used for keycaps, it is a harder and heavier in material. MiniLA is a project of simple and cheap logic analyzer designed for amateur and semi-professional work. I appreciate the arrow keys and that more than outweighs the issues I have with the other keys - though the 1u right shift might be close. Alternatively try cleaning out the connectors and the switches with alcohol, then wait for it to dry (to be safe 2hrs wait) then try connecting it again.

The MINILA met all my needs - a full-size Enter key and physical arrow keys, a function layer for everything else, and a full-size keyboard for the letters and numbers. Both shift keys are 1u (on the ISO board) - and especially on the right this causes me many problems a day. However, it was easy to get used to the small spacebar - I’m “right thumbed” and it pretty much sits there with no problems.The only other keyboard I know that did this kind of thing was the brilliant old IBM design, but they use an attachment method that looks considerably more secure, with an interchangeable printed cap totally enclosing the stem piece.
