On tracks with intense sub-bass content, like The Knife's "Silent Shout," the headphones deliver fantastic bass response—both clear and powerful, even at top, unwise listening levels. The sub-bass synth hits that punctuate the beat are delivered with gusto, but booming bass lovers will find the accurate lows on the HD 569 less powerful than the bass responses of many heavily boosted competing models.

Neither a carrying bag nor an adapter are included with the headphones, although they do come with an exchangeable cable. Hence, although lacking in a little character, the bass guitar was big and bold with no intrusive blooming. Current fashionable choices like booming lows and luxurious-looking materials that look like they came from the inside of a Ferrari are absent here. I compared the Sennheiser HD569 with the Beyerdynamic DT770 pro and the Sennheiser won because it has the oval shaped earcups. Volume, too is surprisingly loud for a 5 Series headphone, while the distortion is as low as that of the more expensive HD 579.

Although almost all external components, including the headband rail, are made of plastic, the headphones still look robust and resistant to me.
