Despite personally preferring different scents, I can see this is very accomplished, so 9/10 for artistry. I don't know how the perfumer did that bit here's a great deal going on in BP that is unrevealed by the note pyramid. He couldn’t understand why I would want to smell exactly like the jasmine, tuberose and marigold that Indian women wore woven into their hair and that Indians gave to their deities’ statues. a flowery rainforest paradise: lush, humid, and somewhat vegetal It conjures up images of a lush tropical canopy of bright blossoms, butterflies, and condensation diamonds. One of my first grown up perfumes, I got a bottle of Beyond Paradise EDP again for nostalgia's sake.

It’s described as a prismatic floral, for me it’s like a work of art you’ll go look at, appreciate, but not bring home.The only other perfumes which to me do smell a lot of berganot are Carolina Herrera for women and Amarrige, although bergamot is not listed alomngst this last one's notes. Whilst at the Estee Lauder counter testing the new Bronze Goddess, I picked up Beyond Paradise and sprayed it on a paper strip.

I'd forgotten how much I love this one and may consider purchasing the newer version, if it's similar.This smells very summery, but sometimes I like to wear summer fragrances in the winter, like a little olfactory vacation. I agree with the hotel swimming pool mentioned below, or chlorine rest room cleanser, with heavy indolic jasmin and plastic tuberose.

When the creamy and waxy elements are absent because the florals are constructed, you get Matisse rather than Maxfield Parrish. Not sure I could pull it off in middle age, but it holds fond memories of the most recent turn of the century. Pure heaven, delightful jasmin, hyacith, gardenia, honeysuckle and more wonderful ingredients than you can wish for!

I have to say the bottle is very beautiful and the fragrance itself is a soft and warm citrus floral with definite hyacinth notes in my opinion. In the early 2000's they offered tiny bottles for free if you brought in the vouchers featured in certain fashion magazines. As the sillage and longevity are both significant, this is one to apply about an hour before your entrance.

As Beyond Paradise wears it becomes increasingly musky and plantish, though still thoroughly floral. Didn't like the fruity smell, thought it was too strong and smelled "weird" in combination with the other ingredients. I love many white floral notes and accords, like jasmine and gardenia, and their corresponding flowers in real life, especially outside.I get a soapy-creamy gardenia scent, too, which reminds me of luxe soaps and Elizabeth Taylor's Gardenia (a cheapie I love). I groaned to myself as I know how long lasting EL fragrances are and knew that washing would not help at all. There is the green of dense tropical jungle and there is the intermittent jab of the ocean heard through a shell pressed to my ear! EL fragrances often have harsh and overpowering openings, so I thought that the scent would calm down,and then something beautiful would emerge.
